Last night in Zurich for a couple of weeks. My erstwhile colleague and I are undecided on whether to eat in or …. we eat out.
It’s a balmy night. We walk and stop at the “notorious”* Langstrasse. It’s neither Long or indicatively notorious.
We stop at a bar and have a beer. The jukebox has a lot of Zucchero.
Wandering back, it’s after 8PM and the street does come alive … with the most overt selling of bodies I think I’ve seen outside Thailand. Just off Langstrassewe find Brasserie Lam.
Selected my me as it (unusually for this part of the world) highlights the vegetarian food.
As we eat, lots of “business” appears to be going on back on the main drag. It’s quite at odds, with what is a very up market eaterie.
*It is notorious as Zurich’s red light district, with a soaring crime rate, drug dealing and brothels. It is also the most overtly multicultural spot in Zurich, with a rate of 42% foreign residents, among the highest in Zurich
