Want one. Now.

The New B544 … just the model I’m looking for. Now only if I had a spare £65K.

Spotted at the supermarket at the weekend. A bigger version of our old motorhome. Sad because it would be nice to still have one. Not sad because this version comes in at just under 9 metres … without the bike rack!

Still … sometime a few years from now … we’ll be back.

It went. Today at around 3.30pm. We no longer have a motorhome. The photo above is the plot we’ve stayed on for the last five months.

We finally exchange on our house on Friday morning. Completion to follow some time down the line. On top of that the motorhome “hopefully” goes on Monday.

We face two problems

1. Getting the remaining bits and pieces for the motorhome (some extra screens and spare keys).

2. Finding somewhere to live temporarily.

Friday night we take a trip up to Edinburgh, where Abe and Morag have been custodians of the spare keys. We collect the, drink some wine, eat their food and stay the night.

Saturday morning, we collect some of the other bits from Edinburgh storage for the motorhome, drive back to Yorkshire, pick up keys for some temporary accommodation and undertake a couple of runs from the motorhome to this other place to get some essentials in (like tea).

Sunday, it’s “moving properly” time. Therese focuses on cleaning the motorhome inside. I focus on getting very wet in exceptionally bad rain and emptying the motorhome of all possessions, as well as collating the hundreds of manuals!

It take around 5 trips back and forward to complete … then the scooter … then the motorbike. By around 4pm, we’ve moved. Temporarily. The motorhome is ready to go.

Well, what can I say. It’s all happening this week.

Saturday, Therese gets a new bike to commute to work.

She looks depressingly cool on it, leaving me looking especially lame on my Piaggio. I’m still sure I could cut her up at a junction though. At least until she’s red hot on gear changes.

There’s much frantic discussion on exchanging on the new house. As of tonight, we’ve now signed the contract and paid the deposit – so should have exchanged by some point tomorrow. We leave the campsite shortly and into short term accommodation for a while.

And hopefully, next week, with mixed emotions, the motorhome will be enjoying adventures with someone else. :’’’(

We had the motorhome booked in today for a couple of repairs at camperuk – hence the reason for being in Lincoln. Unlike a lot of places in the UK dealing in motorhomes, the service were was excellent.

The right parts were ordered just by sending them a couple of photos and as well as replacing the door locks and sorting out a shower microswitch, they spotted and fixed a couple of other problems we hadn’t even spotted.

Top marks to them … this is probably the healthiest the motorhome has been since we bought it!
